PLASMA QUENCH®
Koal # 617.2
This product is a unique amber-green colored liquid concentrate which when diluted with water to specified
concentrations is designed to eliminate steel corrosion, foul odors, and insect infestation in stagnant or agitated water
tables commonly used in metal fabrication.
Koal # 617.2 is intended for use in large open tanks commonly used where a plasma torch, oxy-acetylene, and M.A.P.P.
gas metal cutting operations and where water is employed as a coolant and sound suppressant.
Plasma Quench is used at 3% by volume of tank water at room temperature. The resulting solution exhibits outstanding
tank life and needs only to be discharged when it is found necessary to clean out the holding tank or water table. A built in
color indicator aids in the proper control of the solution concentration. This products unique formulation promotes:
-Excellent corrosion resistance of fabricated steel for in plant storage.
-Acceptable paint adhesion on finished assemblies.
-Long tank life free of foul rancid odors.
-Very economical to use.
This product exhibits excellent stability and can be stored in the original concentrate without breakdown or deterioration.
Likewise, diluted solutions do not breakdown and may be continually re-sued, making additions only when necessary to
overcome dragout, spills, or leaks.
Koal # 617.4
This is a non-dyed version of Koal # 617.2 liquid rust preventive specifically designed to prevent rusting of steel and iron,
however, it is equally effective on brass, aluminum and zinc.
The concentrate is diluted with water to a dilution of 1 to 2 ounces/gallon and used at room temperature or higher
temperatures where rapid drying is required. The diluted mixture does not degrade or decompose upon standing or
storage and thus can be left in test or storage tanks for long periods. Soil buildup and contaminates may on occasion
require tank discharging.
Features include:
1. Excellent corrosion protection for a dilute water system.
2. Effective non-foaming cleaning agents make it suitable for testing tanks and for soil removal prior to painting.
3. Completely neutral and can be used in any storage container suitable for holding water born cleaning agents.
In addition to employing the product as a corrosion inhibitor in test tanks and cleaning tanks, it can be equally effective in
rinsing after spray cleaning or plating operations or as a cleaner rust preventative in barrel or vibratory deburring
machines.
Koal # 671
This product is unique, highly concentrated liquid which when diluted with water to specified concentrations yields
working solutions which exhibits outstanding corrosion resistance for steel in large open tanks commonly used in
plasma torch metal curring operations where water is used as a cutting coolant and sound suppressant.
Koal #671 is designed to be used at 3-4 ounces/gal of water at room temperature and employs a built in color indicator to
aid in concentration control. The higher concentrations yield greater corrosion resistance up to the 4 ounces/gal
recommended whereupon no additional benefits are realized. This products unique formulation promotes:
1. Outstanding corrosion resistance of fabricated steel for in plant storage.
2. Acceptable paint adhesion.
The product exhibits excellent stability and can be stored in the concentrate without breakdown or deterioration. Likewise,
diluted solutions do not breakdown and may be continually reused, marking additions only when necessary to overcome
dragout, spills or leaks.
This product is easy to use, exhibits outstanding tank life and greatly improves the working environment of plasma
quench tanks.
