Zinc Phosphate Micro Conversion Coatings
Koal #17
This product is a highly concentrated liquid iron phosphating formulation designed specifically for 4,5,and
6 stage spray washer operations. It is employed in process tanks only after prior spray cleaning has taken
place and is especially suited for high volume productions as a result of its long unattended bath life.
Koal #17 incorporates 3 distinct features not found in conventional zinc phopshate systems presently on
the market.
1. It is highly accelerated blend thus producing very dense and heavy conversion coatings in short time
cycles and lower temperatures. This feature yields exceptionally corrosion resistant coatings.
2. It displays excellent wetting characteristics resulting in excellent uniform coverage of large complex
parts even in hard to reach recesses. Likewise, the fan spray pattern in washers is widened by 30% when
compared to formulations without this feature.
3. It is uniquely buffered to yield stable, long lasting fee acid levels ideally suited for long bath life.
These features, coupled with low cost per pound yield an exceptional dollar value while yielding the finest
